  • Churning butter, planting vegetables, scavenger hunt, arts and crafts, Frisbee golf

  • And So Much MORE!

Learn about our local history, cultures and community!
Become a history buff (with none other than M. Theo Kearney himself) and meet new friends at the Fresno County Historical Society’s Camp Kearney!

We’ll take (walking!) field trips to visit the demo site of the African American Farmers of California, where we can see a real-life farm in action, and to North Central Fire Department’s Station 56, where you might even get to hop on a fire truck. Reptile Ron will pay us a visit with his slithery, furry, and feathered friends and the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office Mounted Patrol Unit will be stopping by-with their horses!

Speaking of animals, you’ll meet rescued local wildlife with the Nature of Wildworks, and we’ll observe and learn about the many different species of birds that can be found in Kearney Park. We’ll even make them a snack.

We’ll be visited by local historical figures that will not only share their stories but will also share how they did things differently than we do now. Our lovely Minna Eshleman, whose Minnewawa Ranch gave its name to our Minnewawa Avenue, will tell you about her life on the Ranch, and then teach you how to churn butter from cream. Yum!

There will be arts and crafts, board games, disc golf, outdoor activities and so much more. We hope you can join us at Camp Kearney!
